Charlotte Proudman, born Carlotte Bailye, is a British barrister. Proudman came to prominence in 2015 when she publicly castigated fellow British barrister Alexander Carter-Silk for a comment he made about her picture on Linkedin. Both Proudman and Alexander Carter-Silk are graduates of Keele University.[1][2]

After connecting on Linked in Alexander Carter-Silk primately messaged Proudman and reportedly stated:

"I appreciate that this is probably horrendously politically incorrect but that is a stunning picture!!! You definitely win the prize for the best LinkedIn picture I have ever seen." [3] [4]

Proudman responded:

"Alex, I find your message offensive. I am on Linked-in [sic] for business purposes, not to be approached about my physical appearance or to be objectified by sexist men." [5] ref>https://archive.ph/D4yDu</ref>

Proudman then publicly posted the conversation which proceeded to go viral.

Soon after it was reported that Proudman herself had made similar comments on social media about pictures of both men and women. In contrast Proudman's comments were public.Cite error: Closing </ref> missing for <ref> tag
