Contains a scene in which the protagonist demonstrates that he has lost interest in sex with his wife. She accepts this although she makes it clear that she wants sex with her husband. The scene is a near reversal of the modern trope that women lose interest in sex in marriage but it is performed in a matter-of-fact manner and so does not appear to have been intended as a parody. As recently as 1970 it seems that people know men often lost interest in sex as they age.
