Rebecca Thomas is a British nurse who deliberately hit her ex-boyfriend, David Robinson, with her car. Thomas hit David Robinson from hehind. He remained on the ground for around four and a half minutes before passers by came to his assistance. Thomas apparently did not assist him during this time.[1][2]

Thomas pleaded guilty to battery, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and dangerous driving. Thomas was sentenced to a six-month prison sentence suspended for two years and a 30-hour rehabilitation activity requirement. Thomas was 37 at the time of the offence while the victim, David Robinson, was 45.[3][4]

Both were intoxicated at the time and the presiding judge,Geraint Walters, tried to excuse her actions by saying:
