Coronavirus disease 2019 ('COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2).[1] It was first identified in December 2019 in Wuhan, China, and has resulted in an ongoing pandemic.[2][3] The first case may be traced back to 17 November 2019.[4]

Men are approximately twice as likely to die as women although the reasons for this are unclear. In contrast women are more likely to die than men of ebolavirus. Despite this feminists routinely claimed that women were more impacted by coronavirus than men.[5]

In April 2020 an Op Ed in the Huffington Post claimed that old white men would be more likely to spread the disease although this goes against research that has been undertaken.[6]

In May 2020 Clementine Ford tweeted that Honestly, the Corona virus is not killing men fast enough. Ford received significant backlash from the community over this comment and voluntarily gave up a grant from the City of Melbourne.[7][8][9] Ford subsequently issued a backhanded apology.[10]
