An edit-a-thon, sometimes known as a wikistorm is an organised event in which a group with a vested interest will arrange for its members to edit Wikipedia in order to push their ideology. Feminists have openly participated in edit-a-thons. In some cases marks were awarded to university students who participate.[1][2][3][4][5][6]

Negative and inaccurate portrayals of men and boys have permeated mainstream media and online knowledge repositories such as Wikipedia, where the bias is particularly evident. Wikipedia editors routinely write negative commentaries about men and Wikipedia admins protect those commentaries while censoring counter-narratives that might show less biased, more accurate information.

This practice is reinforced by feminists who regularly participate in edit-a-thons, sometimes known as Wikistorming. Feminist university professors openly offer credit for editing Wikipedia[7][8][9][10][11][12]with the sole purpose of increasing feminist ideology within Wikipedia articles, and to censor male-positive discourse and research on men.

Those in control of Wikipedia have succeeded in deplatforming much reliable information about men and boys.
