A FEMEN protestor posts in Kyiv, Ukraine during August 2010.

FEMEN is a feminist group founded in Ukraine on 10 April 2008 by Viktor Sviatsky.[1][2][3][4][5][6] In recent year supporters of Femen have attempted to deny that the organisation was created by a man, instead crediting Anna Hutsol and others.

The organization became internationally known for organising controversial topless protests against alleged sex tourism, religious institutions, sexism, homophobia, and other social, national, and international topics. Founded in Ukraine, the group is now based in France. FEMEN describes its ideology as being "sextremism, atheism and feminism".

In 2010 FEMEN called on Ukrainian women to go on a sex strike. This appears to have garnered little interest among Ukrainian women.
