One woman per week

In Australia feminists and media often claim that one woman per week dies as a result of domestic violence, although the intent generally implies intimate partner violence.[1][2]
This claim is based on a report issued by the Australian Institute of Criminology for the period 2012-2014.[3] The rate of domestic and intimate partner violence in Australia has declined since that time and this rate is no longer correct.
During 2015 prominent feminists and others with a vested interest in the domestic violence industry started to claim that the rate had doubled to two womnen per week. This was a result of a period of a few weeks in which the rate spiked. Rank and file feminists continued to make this claim well in to 2017.
