Black Out Room is a women only pop-up nightclub run periodically in the Australian city of Perth. The nightclub is run by Adelle Cousins, 42, and Shereice Soderberg, 37.[1]
The mainstream media has claimed that the Black Out Room has received negative feedback from men.
The Blackout Room is apparently limited to 300 women.
As of July 2025 it is unclear whether transwomen are permitted entry.
Quotes
"It’s like having ladies night. If you’re a man and you want to have a night out create your own men’s club then feel free, we just wanted our own space so we created it." --Adelle Cousins[2]
Men's clubs are normally under intense pressure to admit women.
Commentary
Women-only establishments or businesses tend not to be very successful and often close after a few years. Excluding paying customers as part of the business plan is self-limiting.
