The Blackout Room is a women only pop-up nightclub run periodically in the Australian city of Perth. The nightclub is run by Adelle Cousins, 42, and Shereice Soderberg, 37.[1]
The Blackout Room is apparently limited to 300 women.
As of July 2025 it is unclear whether transwomen are permitted entry.
Quotes
"It’s like having ladies night. If you’re a man and you want to have a night out create your own men’s club then feel free, we just wanted our own space so we created it."[2]
Men's clubs are normally under intense pressure to admit women.
Commentary
Women-only establishments or businesses tend not to be very successful and often close after a few years. Excluding paying customers as part of the business plan is self-limiting.
