Wanetta Gibson is an American woman who falsely accused Brian Banks of kidnapping and raping her in 2002.[1][2]

In 2013, the Long Beach Unified School District won a $2.6 million judgment against Gibson, recouping $750,000 in payments paid to her along with attorney's fees, interest, and $1 million in punitive damages;[25][26] Gibson failed to appear in court.[27]
