Sarah McDermott is a British woman who, along with Margaret Hughes and Eileen Igoe was convicted and jailed for child abuse committed between 1969 & 1981. McDermott was a nun at the Smyllum Park orphanage in Scotland. McDermott reportedly beat children including, in one case, with rosary beads.[1]
The Smyllum Park orphanage closed in 1981.[2]
