On 26 June 2021 Skye Anne Wallis, then 33, was allegedly driving a stolen vehicle on the Bruce Highway in Burpengary, Queensland, Australia. Senior Constable David Masters was attempting to deploy road spikes to stop the stolen vehicle when it's alleged that Wallis drove the vehicle in to S/Con Masters, killing him.[1] [2] [3] [4]

Wallis subsequently surrendered to police at Cabolture police station, shortly before midnight 29 June 2021, through the intersession of a solicitor and was charged with murder, arson and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.[5][6]

It is alleged that Kari O'Brien, then 24, was a passenger in the vehicle at the time. O'Brien has also been charged with murder.[7]

On 20 September 2021 Nine News reported that significant material was found to be missing from a brief of evidence. Nine News further reported that Wallis had been charged with several counts of robbery and that the Queensland Police Service had until 25 October 2021 to complete their brief.[8]

As of 13 December 2022 Wallis is still apparently awaiting trial. Robert Brockway has contacted the Queensland Department of Justice and Attorney-General for clarification.
