Mrs Vengaliene was seen twice after she left her house and was alone both times.[2]
A few hours after finding his wife Mr Vengalis was arrested and charged with her murder. Mr Vengalis spent nine months in custody before his trial in which the prosecution offered no evidence.[3]
After being released Mr Vengalis reported that he had not seen his five children since he was arrested and that they were now living in Lithuania with his wife's family. Mr Vengalis claims that his wife's mother has turned the children against him and now won't speak to him.[4]
