British mother of three, Nicola Osborne, was jailed in 2011 for falsely claiming that she had been abducted and raped.

One night, while walking home, Osborne met a stranger and proceeded to go to his home, where she had sex with him. On walking home later she became concerned that her husband may find out so she concocted a story about having been abducted and raped.[1]

The man she had slept with was locate by police and held in custody for 12 hours before the truth came out.

Orborne pleaded guilty to perverting the course of justice and was jailed for 18 months.
