Robyn Westgate is an Australian woman and convicted murderer. Westgate murdered her husband in Perth, Western Australia, in 1999 and subsequently spent more than 17 years in prison.[1]

Westgate has accused the deceased of coercive control and intimate partner violence.[2]

On 26 June 1999 Westgate shot her husband dead while he slept. Westgate asserted at trial that the shooting was a failed attempt at suicide.[3]

As of July 2024 Westgate works as a domestic violence consultant and is the project lead for the Mate Bystander project operated by Curtain University.[4]

Western Australian legislative changes in 2008 mean that a woman murdering her husband under similar circumstances today would not be convicted.[5]
