Vanessa Lee Jenkins was convicted on 18 April 2019 of the manslaughter of her defacto partner Paul Bakes in November 2017. Jenkins was sentenced to nine years imprisonment and will be eligible for parole after four and a half years. Jenkins initially told investigating police that Bakes had walked in to the knife.[1]
