A Three-strikes law is a law that results in the person being imprison for an extended period following three convictions for serious offences. This law has resulted in individuals receiving prison sentences far beyond what they would have otherwise received and disproportionately affects men.
Three-strikes law exist in various countries including New Zealand and the United States.
