Hanaa

Hanaa is an Egyptian woman who's full name has not been released. Hanaa allegedly killed her five year old son, Youssef, and boiled & ate part of his head. When asked why she reportedly said she wanted him to stay with her together.^[1]^[2]

Youssef's father advised media that Hanaa had separated and divorced him four years ago. He advises that he had regular contact with Youssef until recently when he claims Hanaa started alienating Youssef from him.^[3]^[4]

Hanaa has claimed she is suffering from a mental illness while Youssef's father rejects this an insists she understood what she was doing.^[5]^[6]

As of May 2023 Hanaa remains in custody.^[7]^[8]
