Elizabeth Sheehy is the author of the book Defending battered Women on Trial in which she argues that wives should have the right to kill their husbands. Sheehy's book openly asserts that women who have allegedly experienced battered wives syndrome should be able to kill their husbands preemptively. Sheehy's argument, therefore, devolves into advocacy for any woman to be able to lawfully kill her husband if she asserts that he has been violent towards her since these men, by definition, have not been charged in relation to intimate partner violence.[1][2][3][4]
