Australian Aborigines
Use of aboriginal vs aborigine.
Ideological push to assert that Australian aborigines have been isolated for 60,000 years or more.
What happened in Australia 5000 years ago?
This article no longer mentions Australia but it did in 2021:
A genetic study published in Nature in July 2015 stated that "some Amazonian Native Americans descend partly from a ... founding population that carried ancestry more closely related to indigenous Australians, New Guineans and Andaman Islanders than to any present-day Eurasians or Native Americans".

Australia only became separated from New Guinea about 8000 years ago. This raises the question of how it could have been isolated for 40,000 years as some claim.[1]

It is unknown how many populations settled in Australia prior to European colonisation. Both "trihybrid" and single-origin hypotheses have received extensive discussion.[57] Keith Windschuttle, known for his belief that Aboriginal pre-history has become politicised, argues that the assumption of a single origin is tied into ethnic solidarity, and multiple entry was suppressed because it could be used to justify white seizure of Aboriginal lands.

If humans left Africa only 50000 years ago how could they have arrived in Australia 65000 years ago?
