The United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) is a United Nations body whose mission is purportedly to promote and protect human rights around the world. The UNHRC has 47 members elected for staggered three-year terms on a regional group basis. The headquarters of UNHRC is in Geneva, Switzerland.

The UNHRC claims to investigate allegations of breaches of human rights in United Nations member states and addresses important human rights issues such as freedom of association and assembly, freedom of expression, freedom of belief and religion, women's rights, LGBT rights, and the rights of racial and ethnic minorities.

The UNHCR shows significant feminist bias. In July 2020 the Republic of Haiti made a statement during the commission's 44th session in which it discussed issues facing men and boys and indicating that the fate of men, women, boys and girls were intertwined. This is believed to be the first time that a statement about issues facing men and boys has been read at the UNHCR.[1]
