Luke Lazarus is an Australian man residing in Sydney. After Saxon Mullins accused Lazarus of raping her he was arrested, charged, and went to trial. Lazarus was initially convicted but subsequently found non-guilt on appeal using an honest mistake of fact defence.[1][2]

Following Lazarus' acquittal, the Australian state of New South Wales moved to strengthen sexual consent laws and ultimately proposed an affirmative consent model.
