Luke Lazarus is an Australian man residing in Sydney. After Saxon Mullins accused Lazarus of raping her he was arrested, charged, and went to trial. Lazarus was subsequently found non-guilt using an honest mistake of fact defence.[1][2]
Following Lazarus' acquittal the New South Wales government moved to strengthen sexual consent laws and ultimately proposed an affirmative consent model.
