Gender shaming is a technique routinely used by feminists and misandrists to prevent men from voicing legitimate concerns about the welfare of men and boys. Examples of this including telling a man to man up insisting that a man be a man or be a real man, or suggesting the man has a small penis.

In December 2022 Andrew Tate initiated a discussion with Thunberg on Twitter. In a clear case of gender shaming Thunberg made a reference to the size of Tate's penis.
