In 1992 Bill Manser had a brief sexual relationship with Elizabeth Sehr in Missouri. Sehr became pregnant and submitted DNA to Roche Biomedical Laboratories for a paternity test for Mr Manser. The test was positive, indicating that Mr Manser was the father of Sehr's child.[1][2]
Mr Manser began paying child support as required by law even though he suspected the child may not be his. Mr Manser later fell in to arrears on child support and was subsequently jailed for five years.[3][4]
In 2015 Mr Manser, along with Elizabeth Sehr and their biological child sued the Roche Biomedical Laboratories, the lab that conducted the DNA test.[5][6]
The Suit was subsequently settled out of court for an undisclosed sum.
