Heteronormativity

Heteronormativity is the concept heterosexuality is normal and the most common sexual orientation. This view is supported by the theory of evolution in which sexual reproduction is strongly selected for.
Heteronormativity does not preclude legal and social acceptance of homosexuality, it merely asserts that the vast majority of the population will be heterosexual.
