Men are risk takers. They are far more likely to engage in risky behaviour than women. Understanding this one fact helps to explain much about human behaviour:

  • Men are over-represented among the very successful (people who took a risk and won)
  • Men are over-represented among the very unsuccessful (people who took a risk and lost)
