Daniela Dawes is an Australian woman that deliberately killed her 10 year old son but spent no time in prison for the crime. On August 4, 2003 Dawes held the mouth of her severely autistic son closed and then pinched his nose, depriving him of oxygen. She did this until he died. On sentencing the judge said that Dawes had suffered enough and wished her well, sentencing her to five years on a good behaviour bond. The sentence was upheld on appeal.[1] [2][3][4]
