Recently the Macquarie Dictionary declared that mansplaining was its word of the year. This word was selected by a committee appointed by Macquarie Dictionary. They claimed that this word is often used in a humorous manner. This is demonstrably not so.
The inclusion of the word 'mansplaining' in a respected dictionary demonstrates the extent to which misandry now pervades our society. Mansplain is a sexist and bigoted word intended to denigrate men and masculinity.
