Audrey Elizabeth Hale was an American trans man who killed several people during a school shooting in Nashville, Tennessee on 27 March 2023. Hale was born female but identified as male.^[1]^[2]^[3]^[4]^[5]^[6] Despite this Hale apparently continued to use the name Audrey which is normally considered to be a female name.

Six people, including three children, are dead as a result of the attack at the Covenant Presbyterian Church School.^[7]^[8]The school curriculum includes Christian theology as well as secular subjects.^[9]^[10]

Hale was a former student at the school and was shot dead by police inside the school building.^[11]^[12] Hale was 28 at the time of her death.^[13]^[14]

Evidence was found at Hale's residence that the attack was premeditated and that an alternative site had been considered but rejected due to greater security.^[15]^[16]
