In 2014 Kathy Sherriff alleged that she had been raped during the winter of 1986 by now Australian federal politician Bill Shorten. Sherriff alleges that this occurred during a Labor youth conference in Portarlington when she was 16.[1] The matter was investigated by police who concluded there was no case to answer.[2]
