Star Trek was always progressive but the meaning of progressive has changed.
There is easily demonstated.
To establish whether someone aligns with 60s progressivism or modern progressivism ask them a simple question.
Should people be treated the same or differently on the basis of ethnicity and biological sex (amongst other characteristics)?
If someone answers 'yes' they align with 60s progressivism. If they answer 'no' they align with modern progressivism.
