Olga Moskalyova was a Russian woman who was sadly mauled to death by a bear in Russia in 2011. Moskalyova was 19 at the time of her death.[1][2]

In 2024 feminists began claiming that women were safer in the presence of bears than in the presence of men. This position, even if not to be taken literally, demonstrates a lack of understanding of the risks associated with interacting with bears in the wild.

Many anti-feminist memes appeared as a result.
