While Identity politics uses terminology such as diversity it is really talking about a coarse form of diversity based on physical characteristics.

Arguments in favour of diversity in management usually resolve around one of the following area:

Thought Processes

It is argued that people who share coarse physical traits think in the same manner and thus requiring diversity in coarse physical traits will result in broader thought processes.

Experiences

people who are different have different experiences.

Representation

People can only represent other people like themselves.
