Matrilocality refers to a cultural tendency for men to relocate to reside with their new wives after marriage. This may mean relocating to their wives' village or living with her family. Matrilocal societies are fairly common.
The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines matrilocality as:
residence especially of a newly married couple with the wife's family or people —contrasted with patrilocality
