The mainstream media (MSM) show heavy biases towards feminism and are highly gynocentric. As a result of this mainstream media use many euphemisms to excuse negative behaviour in women. In cases where they must report domestic or intimate partner violence perpetrated by women due to the severity, they will normally state at the man and woman are known to each other rather than a more conventional statement concerning the nature of their relationship. It is also notable that the mainstream media will normally refer to men as 'people' and women as 'women'. Eg,
