Diversity

Meme showing how diversity and inclusion are selective.

While Identity politics uses terminology such as diversity it is really talking about a coarse form of diversity based on physical characteristics. True diversity, diversity of thought, is ignored. Diversity as practiced in the early 21st century is inherently exclusionary and intolerant even as it uses the language of inclusion and tolerance.

Management and Politics

Arguments in favour of diversity in management and politics usually revolve around one of the following areas:

Thought Processes

Identitarians will argue that people who share coarse physical traits think in the same manner and thus requiring diversity in coarse physical traits will result in broader thought processes. It should be self-evident that this is inaccurate when the range of thought processes expressed by white men are considered. Identartarians often claim that white men are the cause of the world's problems. If this is true then it has only happened as a result of diverse thought on the part of those white men. If all white men thought alike then they would not be capable of being the cause of all of the myriad problems that have plagued the world. They can't have it both ways.

Experiences

Identitarians will argue that people who share coarse physical traits have similar experiences and thus requiring diversity in coarse physical traits will result in broader experience. It should be self-evidence that this is inaccurate when the range of experiences of white men are considered. A man that grows up in the middle class in Australia will have very different experiences to a man that grows up as a peasant in Ukraine, even though they are both white men.

Representation

Identitarians will argue that people who share coarse physical traits will only represent those like themselves and thus equiring diversity in coarse physical traits will result in broader representation. It should be self-evident that this is inaccurate when it is observed that male politicians routinely represent the views and needs of female voters who constitute the majority of the electorate in most nations.
