	Tom had been purple pill since his teenage years but began to investigate sites that ran counter to the mainstream feminist narrative after his daughter was born in 2009. Between 2009 and when his son was born in 2011, Tom spent a lot of time looking into various MRA, MGTOW and PUA sites, many of which he found to be distasteful for one or more reasons. Eventually he found A Voice For Men and, prompted by the contents of that site, started to do a lot of research on the peer reviewed data that is available on gender issues. Once he felt that he was sufficiently informed about men's issues (which took him approximately 2 to 3 years) he started to become active in the Men's Rights community. 	His interest in the Men's Rights Movement was motivated mostly by his concern for his kids. His primary concern was that he saw the direction that society was heading in when it comes to gender politics and did not like it one bit. He did not want his kids to grow up in a world where his daughter was brainwashed into believing that she was a perpetual victim of the "Patriarchy" and his son was automatically deemed to be a violent, evil, oppressive ~~photo~~-rapist simply because he is male.		His interest in the Men's Rights Movement was motivated mostly by his concern for his kids. His primary concern was that he saw the direction that society was heading in when it comes to gender politics and did not like it one bit. He did not want his kids to grow up in a world where his daughter was brainwashed into believing that she was a perpetual victim of the "Patriarchy" and his son was automatically deemed to be a violent, evil, oppressive proto-rapist simply because he is male.

	In 2012 Tom reached out via the AVFM Forums in an effort to contact any MRAs in the Sydney region that might be willing to form a Men's Rights Group in Sydney and meet on a regular basis. This put him in contact with Adrian Johnson (Imdefender) who had previously tried something similar several months earlier to no avail and enthusiastically agreed to meet.		In 2012 Tom reached out via the AVFM Forums in an effort to contact any MRAs in the Sydney region that might be willing to form a Men's Rights Group in Sydney and meet on a regular basis.
